Video interview with Growatt co-founder Qiao: ‘We expect 500 MW shipments in Europe alone’

Growatt co-founder and solar director Frank Qiao spoke to pv magazine about the company’s latest products, which were displayed at Intersolar Europe in Munich. According to Qiao, Growatt’s latest commercial and industrial-class string inverter was put through the mill by third party testing institute TÜV for more than two months. The co-founder was proud to announce such rigorous testing verified the reliability of the product.
Apart from reliability, inverters nowadays perform a range of digitally enabled functions. Through use of the company’s AI-supported online platform Growatt says its inverter functions can be controlled and monitored remotely, helping drive down costs and boost returns. With storage a big topic at the show, Qiao also highlighted Growatt’s offering in the hybrid inverter segment.
With the self-consumption market rapidly expanding, fast EV charging and the aggregation of domestic storage systems to offer grid ancillary services are likely to feature among the methods of recouping investment in residential PV installations featuring hybrid inverters.
